It’s the final countdown! Just two more nights in my parent’s home and I’m off to China! Today I have a nice day planned at Matt Wayne Salon where I plan to have my hair cut, colored and highlighted as well as other sundry treatments. After, Dad and I are going to go see “Marley and Me” at the theater because I have been pestering him to watch it with me since it was released on Christmas day. I couldn’t bear the thought of going off to China without seeing it. I love dog movies! (Dad probably won’t admit it, but he does too.)
On Monday, February 2nd, 2009, the day I leave, I have one last errand to run. I need to renew my Nebraska driver’s liscense. I told Mom and Dad that I couldn’t get it done until I had my hair cut and colored! I’ll do that in the morning while mom is at school teaching. She was able to have someone cover her afternoon classes, so we are going to go to one of my favorite restaurants (and one of Dad’s least favorite) for lunch. McFoster’s Natural Kind Cafe (A vegetarian restaurant on 38th and Farnam.) We plan to arrive at the airport at 3:00 pm because my plane leaves at about 4:40 for San Francisco, CA with a stopover in Denver, CO.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I may be removing items from my suitcase at the airport. I’m allowed 2 checked bags (free of charge) with a weight limit of 50 pounds each. On the scale at home they currently weigh 49.5 pounds each. My carryon is “technically” supposed to weigh 11 pounds or less. I’m hoping they don’t weigh it. It weighs just over 22 pounds. Yep. This could be an issue.
